Find Me Similar Songs is a simple, free tool for discovering music. This page explains, in plain language, what information the site handles and how. By using findmesimilarsongs.com, you agree to what's described here.
The short version
There's no big company behind this and no central database of users. The site finds similar songs and shows them to you — most of what you do stays in your own browser, on your own device. The main outside parties involved are Last.fm (which powers the song matching) and Google (which shows the ads that keep the site free).
What the site collects
- Songs you search for: when you look up a song, that text is sent to the Last.fm service so it can find matches. The site itself does not keep a record of your searches.
- Saved lists and optional account: if you create an account or save a playlist, that information — your email, a scrambled version of your password, and your saved lists — is stored only in your own browser (using your browser's local storage), on the device you used. It is not sent to or kept on any server we run. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes it.
- Basic technical information: like virtually every website, our hosting provider and the services below may automatically receive standard details such as your approximate location, browser, device type, and pages viewed — used to keep the site secure and working.
Cookies and advertising
This site uses Google AdSense to display ads, which is what keeps it free to use.

- Spotify, YouTube and SoundCloud — each song links out to a search on these services so you can play it. Once you follow a link, that service's own privacy policy applies.
- Netlify — the site is hosted on Netlify, which may keep basic access logs as part of serving the site. If you use the contact form, what you submit is delivered through Netlify.
Your choices
- You can remove any saved lists or account info at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
- You can opt out of personalized ads using the links above, or use an ad-blocker.
- You can use the site fully without ever creating an account.

This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
